Paid Mac app: local document-to-audio and highlighted read-along export.

Keeping the reading export separate from a cloud account
A current design decision in Elmren Voice: the Mac app generates the audio locally and exports a self-contained HTML file containing the audio, text and word highlighting. The listener opens that file in a compatible browser instead of creating an Elmren account. Audio and M4B exports remain available when a simpler listening file is preferable.
That makes the generated reading portable, but it puts real weight on the handoff. Embedded audio increases file size, and a device's file-preview app may handle downloaded HTML differently from a browser. Those are tradeoffs to explain clearly, rather than claiming every file opens everywhere.
The app is for Apple Silicon Macs (M1+, macOS 13+). Initial model downloads and licensing need internet; synthesis and optional permission-based voice cloning run locally. It imports your own or authorized PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT and Markdown. Current reading workflow: English; 64 built-in voices; interface in 11 languages. Price: $39.99 once for one Mac, with a 7-day / 120-minute synthesis trial.
