A few days ago had a big increase in traffic, from ~600 visitors a day to ~3500. That increased the cost of the AI personalized reports I'm generating for users for free to something like $20/day. I decided to run an experiment - try creating another version of the report that is more premium and try charging $9 for it.
I decided to run the experiment until 1000 people see that offer and decide what next. Got 2000 offer views in a few days, the click on the Buy button was 1%, and no purchases.
So I decided to change it up to get some feedback - I connected my Claude API credits that I get every month and made the premium report free (it costs ~$1.5 to generate, really went all out, Fable and Opus). I limited generations to 24 per day, 100 in a month, so it's like an exclusive thing. Readers answer 2 questions to unlock the PDF, then are asked to pay what it was worth, so I get some feedback and learning.
People are claiming the reports, and that's great. But, they are not opening them. After the first day, only 16% of those that claimed the premium report opened it, and of those, nobody left any feedback.
So I'm trying to figure out why that is, where they drop off, and improve it.
